Lonach Overview

The cultivation commenced in the year 1910. Few British planters are namely Mr. M Woods, Mr. Patrick Moor Gray and Mr. Correlices Brain O’ Callaghan.

Lonach not only is unique for its tea but also for its dairy farming project with 200 head of dairy cows which gives an average of 1500 liters of milk per day. At the compost site located in land with 10 acres in extent, they produce 1000 kg of organic fertilizer per day. They use it for their tea plantations under the ‘forking and applying’ process while also supplying the excess to other estates. Cow dung, dust tea, and other waste material are used for producing fertilizer using chopper machines. The biomass project is also a part of the estate’s dairy farming project.
