To mark World Nature Conservation Day on July 28th, Hatton Plantations PLC celebrated a key milestone with an official tree-planting ceremony along the banks of Hatton Oya—the launch location for the initiative: “Partnering for Long-Term Forest Corridor Development Along the Mahaweli.”
Guided by the leadership and vision of our Managing Director and Deputy CEO, this critical ecosystem restoration project is implemented in strategic partnership with the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society (WNPS) and generously supported by Hemas Holdings PLC.
The symbolic tree planting at Hatton Oya marks the first step in re-establishing critical forest connectivity, protecting vital natural watersheds, and safeguarding biodiversity along the Mahaweli river .
